JANUARY 2016

Greetings, Second Life genealogists and family history enthusiasts! Hope you enjoyed your holidays, and are looking forward to an amazing new year of genealogy breakthroughs and insights. January means a fresh start, and time to review your goals and priorities for the coming year.   January is also National Hobby Month, so very appropriate for genealogists to make new plans on how to tackle those research obstacles!  It’s also National Bath Safety month, and National Oatmeal month, but I’m not quite sure how to tie that in here 🙂   Anyway!  Check out this month’s genealogy events in SecondLife, as well as some useful research sites and info in this newsletter.  Please contact Genie Weezles either inworld, or at relativelycurious@gmail.com.

Drop by Just Genealogy tonight for the NGSQ Study Group. What is this group, you ask? Well, it is a group of genealogists who study scholarly articles from the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, and meet monthly to discuss the evidence and methodology used in the case study. The Second Life group meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. SLT. Tonight, in other words.

This month’s reading is: Shirley Langdon Wilcox’s “Finding a Father for Isaac Young, A Virginia Native in California,” National Genealogical Society Quarterly 102 (September 2014): 177-188.

For more information, feel free to contact me in-world. I’ll be happy to send you the reading list and help you get started.
