Join us for our first meeting of 2026, where professional genealogist Dawn Carlisle will teach us a few Tips for Deciphering Old Handwriting.
Description:
Deciphering that fancy (or terrible) handwriting, that bleeds through the page, the bad spelling, faint ink, and extraneous ink and pencil marks, are issues we frequently encounter reading records in the courthouse, on microfilm or digital images, and in old diaries and letters. Tips and tools for getting around these issues will be discussed.
WHEN: Sunday, 11 January 2026
TIME: 4:30 p.m. SLT (same as Pacific Time)
WHERE: The Barn SLurl
A brief business meeting will be held before the speaker’s presentation.
Genealogists of all levels are welcome at our meetings. You do not need to be a member of the SLVGS to attend, but we’d love it if you’d join!
